Why do we need ventilation?
Maintaining clean indoor air is essential for the health and comfort of the people who occupy a space. A properly functioning ventilation system that replaces stale and polluted air with fresh outdoor air reduces the risk of virus transmission and exposure to harmful pollutants.
In addition, controlling humidity through ventilation systems prevents the formation of condensation and the growth of mould, which can lead to structural damage and health problems.
How does the Lossnay ventilation system work?
The Lossnay ventilation system provides a constant and controlled airflow, improving indoor air quality and the energy efficiency of the building.
The technology behind Lossnay’s energy efficiency lies in the unique design of its core, which enables up to 85% heat exchange without mixing the two airflows — the incoming and the outgoing air.
Moisture exchange
In addition to heat exchange, Lossnay ventilation systems also perform moisture exchange, thereby providing a healthy and comfortable indoor environment for occupants.
This makes Mitsubishi Electric ventilation ideal for homes, offices, retail spaces, doctors’ surgeries, schools, and other buildings where people spend long periods of time.
Heat recovery ventilation
1
Air filtration – thanks to the built-in filter, fine dust, allergens, odours, and even viruses can be filtered out of the air.
2
Humidity control – air filtration systems regulate humidity. This prevents mould formation and protects both our health and the building structure from moisture-related damage.
3
Allergy-friendly environment
Ventilation systems are equipped with fine-pore filters that capture pollen and dust, thereby reducing their concentration in the room to a minimum. A major relief for people suffering from allergies.
• Improved health;
• Better sleep quality;
• Better concentration;
• Higher levels of environmental satisfaction.
LGH LOSSNAY for commercial applications
LOSSNAY is a total heat exchange ventilation system that uses a special paper membrane to exchange temperature (sensible heat) and humidity (latent heat) between the incoming and outgoing air.
The best ventilation solution for any room — even in bathrooms and wet areas.
The system provides optimal ventilation for all spaces, including bathrooms and shower areas, thanks to:
• A heat exchanger for efficient energy recovery;
• The ability to be installed in sanitary rooms;
• CO₂ sensor control for automatic maintenance of fresh and healthy air.
CO₂ sensor
CA CO₂ sensor connected directly to LOSSNAY RVX3 automatically adjusts the fan speed according to the measured carbon dioxide level.
This function increases heat-exchange efficiency and contributes to significant energy savings.
LOSSNAY for residential applications – VL-CZPVU
1
Quiet operation
Noise is one of the most common issues in residential ventilation. Extremely quiet operation is achieved thanks to a special fan developed by Mitsubishi Electric. The balance between airflow and static pressure is optimised, and the fan speed is reduced to a minimum, resulting in low noise levels.
2
Air purification
An optional filter removes NOx and PM2.5, improving indoor air quality. The filter can be installed directly in the unit without an additional filter housing, saving space.
3
Wi-Fi control
With MELCloud, you can monitor and control your LOSSNAY system remotely.
Intelligent bypass mode
The LOSSNAY ventilation system automatically selects direct outdoor air flow without heat exchange when this provides more comfortable and more energy-efficient ventilation during the summer season.
VL – Wall-mounted models
The Lossnay VL50 wall-mounted ventilation system provides an airflow rate of up to 50 m³/h. It is designed for smaller residential spaces where moderate ventilation capacity is required.
This Lossnay model offers not only ventilation but also heat recovery, in which the temperature of the outgoing air is used to heat or cool the incoming air, resulting in further reductions in energy consumption.
Natural ventilation will bring fresh air into the building, but at the same time it will also result in the loss of valuable heat. When the outdoor temperature in winter is 5°C and the comfortable indoor temperature is 20°C, this means 15°C of heat is literally going out through the window.
The VL and LGH systems from Mitsubishi Electric provide not only ventilation but also heat recovery, where the temperature of the outgoing air is used to heat or cool the incoming air, resulting in further reductions in energy consumption.
